Come spend the morning with us and learn the art of royal icing from biscuit icing expert Ashleigh Temple. In this beginners biscuit decorating class, you’ll learn everything you need to know from the icing consistency to how to bake the perfect biscuit base to decorating them like a pro. We’ll be decorating the following biscuits, Santa sack, rectangle / square present, Mr. & Mrs. Claus, truck with tree & bauble You’ll leave feeling confident and excited about your new royal icing skills.
We have a quick Q&A during the class, so make sure you have your questions ready.
What you’ll learn
– How to get the correct icing consistency
We demonstrate how to make and mix up the various royal icing consistencies for icing biscuits.
– How to bake the perfect biscuit base
We demonstrate how to roll & cut the dough (only in the live online class)
– Flooding, piping and wet on wet techniques
– Drying your icing and storing your biscuits for the best shelf life
– What colours we use, prevent bleeding, discolouring etc
– Icing transfers & making crush
– What are the best tools and supplies to use
– How to stencil, we demonstrate the consistency and how to use a stencil frame.

The step by step guides for each biscuit are available for purchase (these are included in the live online classes only)
Add our Christmas class starter box, which contains all the step by step guides, a RI transfer sheet & 4 magnets, egg white powder, piping bags, crush, non-toxic pen & pencil, and a container of holly, tags & patches.
We will be following strict COVID 19 regulations.
Seating will be 1.5 metres apart. No sharing of tools or piping bags. Strict hygiene throughout the class. Masks are compulsory at all times. Disposable tea/coffee station. Temperature reading on entry.
